Fans' club urges logo designers to get their skates on
BUDDING designers still have time to put their mark on a new Wrexham Football Club supporters club by designing its logo.
Last month, the Leader teamed up with the newly-established Mold and District Reds Supporters Club to launch a competition to design the club's logo. We have already received entries of a very high standard and want to remind anyone thinking of entering to get their design to us by the end of this week.
Club spokesman Sandra Edwards said: "We want local people to design a logo for the Mold and District Reds Supporters Club, something incorporating Wrexham Football Club and Mold and bilingual if possible."
The club was the brainchild of Reds supporter and Mold resident Enzo Merola and a committee was formed after its first meeting on July 3.
"We wanted to start the club because we had quite a lot of organised events last year and coaches going to matches and we got a lot of people interested from Mold and the surrounding areas, so we thought it would be a good idea to set up a supporters club," said Sandra.
To enter the competition, send your entry in an envelope marked "Mold Reds Competition" to Laura Hughes, Evening Leader, Mold Business Park, Wrexham Road, Mold, Flintshire CH7 1XY by the end of Friday, August 31.
Entries will be judged by the committee at its September meeting, so look out for the winner and his or her successful design in the Evening Leader.
